Avanti ads by Studebaker
were published in national magazines from early 1962 until
mid 1963. These full page ads appeared in everything from
Time and Life to National Geographic. Shown
here is the Studebaker double page ad that appeared in Life
Magazine on November 22, 1963. The
three ads at the bottom portray the Avanti as a luxury vehicle
more like a Cadillac than a Corvette. Subtle lighting, romantic
environments, and evening clothes convey a sense of elegant
refinement. Yet Avanti had already proven itself a champion
on the track. Studebaker took
advantage of the Avanti's track record and created other ads
that portray the Avanti as fast and sporty.
