| The 1963 Detroit Auto Show car. 1963 Avanti with retro-fit R-3 by Granatelli. Complete frame-off restoration by Classic Auto Restoration of Louisiana, Phantom, and Myers Studebaker of Ohio. Better than factory white with red interior. The only car ever made with a leather driver's seat ONLY. Original seat covers retained for arguers. Factory built sheet from Studebaker Historical Museum indicates "show finish." A similar car sold on a TV auction for $69,000 - but it wasn't the factory show car. | Studebaker Avanti-1963 R1 for sale for $21,900 (offer). Beautiful car, fine driving. Complete, recent frame-off restoration. Engine overhauled with new pistons, connecting rods, bearings and all new gaskets. New electronic ignition. Transmission resealed and adjusted. Many new parts including front coil springs, all front and rear end suspension bushings, rear brake drums, pads, wheel cylinders, and all new brake lines. New fuel tank, and all new fuel lines. New fuel sender unit. New universal joints in drive shaft. Front brakes were disc brake retrofit with new spindles, brake lines, pads, and rotors. New hog troughs replaced while body was off frame. New weatherstrips (all)! New interior (all) including dash. New window motor. Add-on air conditioning (R34). Rechromed bumpers. New silver paint, not original color. Dupont base coat with Transtar clear coat. Original radio with trunk mounted six disc CD changer. |
