BABYLON DRAWINGS
The “Babylon“ drawings illustrate a story about the journey of a 14th century Eastern European monk to the ruins of ancient Babylon. A tablet appears in the distance when the horse confronts the serpent, then in the foreground with hieroglyphics as seen by a Babylonian priest, and its message is obscurred when the drugged monk approaches on his imagined mythological beast. Original works of art in the gallery include the Corcoran etchings, the “Biomorph“, “Babylon“ and “Structure“ drawings; and the “Mandala“ and “Permutations“ acrylic paintings.
