Atlantis, The Lost Continent was produced and directed by George Pal. More myth and adventure than science fiction except for the fanciful submarine and death ray. The sets are brilliant, the costumes are magnificent, and the spectacular conclusion is awesome. Anthony Hall plays Demetrios, a greek fisherman who saves the life of a haughty princess. Demetrios earns his freedom from slavery in a match with a giant gladiator. Daniel Mainwaring's screenplay is based on the play by Sir Gerald Hargreaves. Click for other version of poster
