William Cameron Menzies, art director of Gone With The Wind, directed. The film is distinguished by its surrealistic sets, most notably the fence on the hill where people unaccountably vanish. The musical score by Raoul Kraushaar enhances the eerie effect. Richard Blake's screenplay follows the dilemma of a boy who can't convince anyone that he has seen a flying saucer. Jimmy Hunt is the boy. Leif Erikson and Helena Carter play his parents. Arthur Franz plays the scientist. The aliens proceed with a plan to control the minds of the town's inhabitants by implanting a device in the back of the victim's necks.
