The Monolith Monsters turn flesh to stone. An ancient myth is updated to include an alien invasion. This time the monsters are huge monolithic crystals that replicate when exposed to water. Since there is an abundance of water on Earth that often falls as rain, the monoliths quickly become prolific. Humans that come in contact with the monsters are literally petrified. Original idea, good story, and interesting characters. Another Grant Williams film. With Lola Albright, Les Tremayne, and Phil Harvey. Screenplay by Norman Jolley and Robert M. Fresco. Directed by John Sherwood. Produced by Howard Christie.
