Curt Siodmak's novel, Donovan's Brain, was translated to the screen by Felix Feist, produced by Tom Gries, and directed by Felix Feist. Oscar Nominee Lew Ayres has the lead as scientist Patrick Cory, but ex first lady Nancy Davis Reagan steals the show as Cory's wife, Jan. It also stars Gene Evans and Steve Brodie. W. H. Donovan is a ruthless millionaire killed in a plane crash. Cory steals his brain and keeps it alive as an experiment. In the Dr. Jekyll-Mr. Hyde tradition, the brain takes control of Cory's mind.
