Ricky Nelson was the son of 1950s television stars, Ozzie and Harriet Nelson. Ricky appeared on the "Ozzie and Harriet" television sitcom through the latter half of that decade and began performing "Rock'n Roll" songs at the end of each episode. Ricky's 1963
Studebaker Avanti is probably serial number R1431 shown here with Nelson in the car. R1431 was Avanti gold with black vinyl trim, automatic, PS, electric windows, and air conditioning. An auction house sold R1607 a few years back claiming that it was Nelson's. Though there was some documention of this it was not conclusive. R1607 has a supercharger, and is a 4-speed, with power steering, power brakes, electric windows, twin traction, and tinted glass.
