Produced by William Alland and directed by Eugène Lourié from a screenplay by Willis Goldbeck. Music composed by Nathan Van Cleave. Stars Ross Martin, Otto Kruger, John Baragrey, Ed Wolff, Mala powers, and Robert Hutton. The merging of man and machine has disastrous consequences when a brilliant surgeon and his son put another son's brain in the body of a large robot. The huge shell is mechanically unreliable and combined with the lack of human contact and affection, the colossus starts to go mad, gaining strength and developing the ability to harness power and unleash death rays from his eyes. Madness builds until The Colossus goes on a rampage in New York, culminating in a stand-off at the United Nations.
