Target Earth emphasizes the human drama rather than the invading army of robots. Six humans are stranded in downtown Chicago after an overnight evacuation leaves the city deserted. The people are made intriguing by circumstances, but the aliens are rarely shown and are not very threatening when they are. The invaders are robots from Venus! That a planet of intense heat and cloud vapor would produce a race of metallic robots seems unlikely. This is another of the Richard Denning films. Click for other version of poster
