Best film winners during the Studebaker Avanti era - Lawrence of Arabia won the 1962 Academy Award for Best Picture. The film dramatizes the adventures of T.E. Lawrence, a British major who unified Arab tribes and led them in the fight for independence in the 1920s. Tom Jones won in 1963. Tony Richardson's adaptation of Henry Fielding's novel was one of the most critically acclaimed and popular comedies of its time, winning four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
