Knight Rider was an NBC television series starring David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight who drives a sapient talking car with artificial intelligence. Knight Industries Two Thousand (KITT), was a customized 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am sports model that cost $100,000 to build. The show was an instant hit and all sorts of vehicles were crammed into every episode. These include the Studebaker Lark (center, background) and BMW motorcycle shown below. An Avanti was driven by Knight in a chase scene. Based on the bulky look of the folded top it appears to be the Richard Straman convertible built for Stephen Blake in 1984. This is the same red convertible that appears in the Karate Kid. Knight Rider Online
